The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Maldivians traveling to Sri Lanka to ensure that they complete the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) form ahead of their trip, following changes to Sri Lanka’s immigration procedures.

According to the new policy, effective from 15th October 2025, all passengers traveling to Sri Lanka are required to obtain an ETA before arrival.

Travelers must complete the form between 48 and 24 hours prior to departure.

The Foreign Ministry clarified that this procedural change does not alter the existing visa exemption arrangements between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The Ministry has urged Maldivian travelers to carefully fill out the ETA form before their journey to avoid any inconvenience upon arrival.
