Immigration launches passport services in K. Thulusdhoo
The Maldives Immigration has announced the commencement of passport services in K. Thulusdhoo, allowing residents to apply for and obtain passports directly from the island.
According to Immigration, the service was launched as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to expand passport services to all provinces across the country.
The department stated that its goal is to establish passport issuance facilities in every atoll before the end of this year.
With the introduction of services in Thulusdhoo, passport facilities have now been launched in more than 15 provinces.
Residents in rural areas have long expressed difficulties in obtaining passports due to the need to travel to Malé for processing.
The expansion of regional passport services aims to ease these challenges and bring essential government services closer to the people.
