A six year old boy was injured in a road accident in Thinadhoo City after being struck by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road.

The incident took place yesterday evening, according to police. 

The child sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the motorcycle was driven by a 21-year-old man who did not possess a license in the category he was driving. 

The vehicle was later seized, and the rider has been taken into police custody.

Police further stated that the suspect fled the scene immediately after the crash without stopping. 

An investigation into the case is currently underway.
