President and Commander-in-Chief of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Dr Mohamed Muizzu, officially inaugurated the Maldives National Service today at the Composite Training Centre (CTC) in Maafilaafushi, formally presenting the programme’s flag.

President Muizzu highlighted that genuine national development depends on nurturing a patriotic, capable, and disciplined younger generation.
He emphasised that raising youth who value Islam and their national identity is as important as infrastructure development.

The Maldives National Service aims to cultivate citizens who are responsible, physically fit, spiritually grounded, and mentally resilient.
Its three-month Initial Training Programme includes modules on national identity, leadership, language proficiency, responsible citizenship, physical fitness, first aid, firefighting, and self-defence.

The ceremony was attended by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, senior government officials, cabinet ministers, and national defence leaders.
