Ambulances for 50 Islands to be acquired this year: President Dr. Muizzu
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that ambulances required for 50 islands across the Maldives will be brought into the country within this year.
Speaking during a meeting with residents of Th. Omadhoo, the President said the island council had highlighted the urgent need for an ambulance.
He assured that Omadhoo would receive its ambulance before the end of this year, along with other islands included in the nationwide effort.
The President further pledged to expedite the extension of the island’s health center and emphasized that the water and sewerage project, the most crucial development for Omadhoo will be given the highest priority.
He said the project would be closely monitored to ensure swift completion.
Addressing additional requests from the council, President Muizzu confirmed that dredging of the western entrance channel would be carried out following necessary studies.
He also committed to advancing other development works within the allocated budget, including the expansion of the school, upgrades to the island’s field pitch, and the health center extension.
