President highlights Maldives-Saudi historic ties on Saudi Arabia’s National DayPresident Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day.

In official letters, the President conveyed heartfelt felicitations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. 

He highlighted the Maldives’ deep appreciation for the historic ties between the two nations, which are rooted in shared Islamic values, mutual respect, and lasting solidarity.

Saudi Arabia has been a steadfast friend and development partner to the Maldives. Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere confidence in the wide potential to expand our relations further,

President Dr. Muizzu wrote on X

Dr. Muizzu reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of continued collaboration for the mutual benefit of both countries and the wider Islamic Ummah. 

He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s significant support over the years, notably its contribution to the development of Velana International Airport, a key milestone in bilateral cooperation.

The President’s message underscored his confidence in further enhancing the close relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia in the years ahead.
