Maldives forms Digital Transformation Council to oversee ‘Digital-First Nation’ Vision
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has established the Digital Transformation Council, tasked with steering the Maldives toward the government’s “Maldives 2.0 – Digital-First Nation” vision.
The Council, formed on the advice of the Cabinet, has been mandated to facilitate, guide, and oversee the implementation of the digital roadmap. President Muizzu himself will chair the Council.
“Maldives 2.0” is a presidential initiative aimed at placing digital transformation at the core of governance and public service delivery.
The programme envisions state institutions working in unison to provide prompt, secure, and transparent services to the public, marking a shift toward modern, technology-driven administration.
According to the government, the reforms under Maldives 2.0 will bring revolutionary changes in governance, ensuring greater efficiency, safety, and accessibility for citizens.
