President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on Friday afternoon for an official eight-day tour of islands across Vaavu, Meemu, Faafu, and Thaa Atolls.

The trip will see the President visit all 31 inhabited islands in the four atolls.

According to the President’s Office, the tour is aimed at strengthening government engagement with local communities.

During the visits, President Muizzu will meet with Island Councils and Women’s Development Committees to discuss development priorities, in addition to holding direct dialogues with residents to hear their concerns and assess their well-being.

The President’s itinerary includes stops at five inhabited islands in Vaavu Atoll—Fulidhoo, Thinadhoo, Felidhoo, Keyodhoo, and Rakeedhoo. In Faafu Atoll, he will visit Feeali, Bileiydhoo, Magoodhoo, Dharan’boodhoo, and Nilandhoo.

His visit to Meemu Atoll will cover Dhiggaru, Maduvvari, Raiymandhoo, Veyvah, Mulah, Kolhufushi, Naalaafushi, and Muli.
