Media Fenda dissolved citing lack of fulfillment of intended purpose
Repeated breaches of operational rules have led to the dissolution of the Media Fenda.
Established on May 29, 2025, the Media Fenda was designed to improve engagement between government institutions and the press by offering journalists timely access to information and facilitating event coverage.
However, according to the President’s Office, the facility failed to function as intended.
While accredited journalists were granted official passes to enter the Media Fenda, individuals without passes gained entry by posing as journalists, repeatedly breaching established rules.
In addition, some accredited journalists reported challenges in accessing information and carrying out their work effectively.
The statement also noted that breaches of public safety regulations and disruptions to individuals visiting government offices in the Green Zone further contributed to the decision.
Unauthorized entry, obstruction of news collection, and violations of Green Zone regulations were highlighted as key infractions.
Despite the closure, the President’s Office emphasized that journalists will continue to have full access to the Office and other government institutions for news coverage.
