President Dr. Muizzu welcomes UNGA endorsement of New York declaration on Palestine

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has welcomed the United Nations General Assembly’s endorsement of the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

In a statement shared on his official X account, President Muizzu said declarations of this nature are vital to strengthening international consensus and ensuring accountability for the rights of the Palestinian people.

He reiterated the Maldives’ firm support for the declaration and its call for collective international action.

The President emphasized that the Maldives continues to advocate for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Reaffirming the Maldives’ longstanding position, President Muizzu stressed that the country remains committed to working with the international community in pursuit of a two-state solution and will continue to voice solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
