President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the Maldives national football team on their triumph in the South Asian Super Cup 2025.

Despite drawing with Sri Lanka in today’s match, the Maldives secured the championship with a comfortable aggregate lead.

In a post on his official X account, President Muizzu expressed pride in the team’s achievement and extended his congratulations to all players, coaches, and support staff.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to sports, President Muizzu reaffirmed plans to revive and further develop football in the Maldives, aiming to restore the sport to its former prominence.

New sporting facilities are being established in Malé and across the atolls to strengthen sports development nationwide.
