HRCM strengthened with appointment of two new members
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Monday appointed Mohamed Shafeeg Mahmood and Ahmed Magsoom as members of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM).
The appointments were made at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office. Prior to receiving their letters of appointment from the President, both appointees took the oath of office before Supreme Court Justice Mohamed Saleem.
The HRCM is composed of five members.
The current commission includes President Mariyam Muna, Vice President Moomina Waheed, and members Samaau Ahmed Najeeb and Ismail Habeeb.
The two new appointees will replace Vice President Moomina Waheed and member Aminath Shifaath Abdul Razzaq, whose tenures conclude this month.
