Ooredoo internet in Maldives remains uninterrupted: CCO Niyaz
Ooredoo Maldives has confirmed that internet services in the country remain unaffected despite reports of a major submarine cable disruption in the Red Sea.
Several international media outlets reported that the cable break has caused connectivity issues across Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Europe.
Following public concern on social media about potential disruptions in the Maldives, Ooredoo Maldives CCO Hussain Niyaz clarified that the company’s services continue without interruption.
Responding on social media platform X,
As of now there are no issues impacting our internet services in the Maldives. We have submarine cables connecting to alternative routes such as Singapore which will have redundancy solutions should there be any impact
Niyaz stated
Reports indicate that the cable disruption has severely affected internet services in several Middle Eastern countries, including Kuwait and the UAE, while Pakistan and nearby nations have also faced connectivity issues.
