A Maldivian man, Abdul Bathin Mohamed Mustafa, has been arrested in Malaysia in connection with an investigation by Malaysian authorities.

The Maldives Police Service confirmed the arrest on Saturday, stating that Malaysian police are conducting the investigation but did not disclose its nature or further details.

Maldives Police Service has been informed that Bathin was arrested in connection to an ongoing investigation by the Malaysian police according to police spokesperson.

However, police also confirmed that Bathin is a suspect in a domestic violence case currently under investigation in the Maldives.
