Police have confirmed that the body discovered at Hulhumalé Water Theme Park on Monday belongs to Rupan Thapa Magar, a 29-year-old Nepalese man who had been reported missing on August 21.

According to the Maldives Police Service, forensic testing was used to identify the deceased due to the body’s severely decomposed condition at the time it was found.

Authorities stated that no signs of foul play have been identified so far in the investigation but confirmed that the case remains under inquiry.

No additional details have been released at this stage.

The discovery has prompted continued investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Magar’s death.
