STELCO announces power outages in Malé and Hulhumalé for grid maintenance tomorrow
The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced a planned power outage in Malé and Hulhumalé tomorrow morning to facilitate essential maintenance works on its 50 MW Hulhumalé power plant.
According to STELCO, the maintenance shutdown will take place from 06:00 to 10:00, during which each affected area will experience a one-hour power interruption.
Specific timings and locations will be shared with residents in advance via SMS to help households and businesses make necessary preparations.
The utility company emphasized that critical facilities, including hospitals and other essential services, will remain unaffected throughout the process.
Technicians are also working to complete the maintenance ahead of schedule to minimize inconvenience and restore electricity promptly.
STELCO explained that the preventive maintenance is part of its strategy to strengthen the grid, reduce potential risks, and ensure a more reliable electricity supply for the Malé region.
