Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel pays courtesy call on Indian PM Modi
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel met with Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Friday, in a courtesy call held during the Indian leader’s official State Visit to the Maldives.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Khaleel warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi and his delegation to the Maldives, noting the deep-rooted and long-standing ties shared by the two neighbouring nations.
Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s strong commitment to further strengthening the already close partnership with the Maldives across multiple areas of mutual interest.
Both sides expressed confidence in continuing to work closely to expand bilateral cooperation and deepen the friendly relations between India and the Maldives.
The courtesy call took place as part of a broader agenda of high-level engagements during Prime Minister Modi’s visit, which marks his first to the Maldives under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration and his third term in office.
