Authorities are investigating the death of an American tourist who died while snorkeling at a resort in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the incident was reported around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old American man.

However, police have not disclosed the name of the resort where the incident occurred, and no further details have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
