Fuvahmulah’s shark point featured in Netflix series “All the Sharks”
Fuvahmulah’s renowned Shark Point has gained international spotlight with its feature in the premiere episode of Netflix’s new series All the Sharks, which launched yesterday.
The global exposure is expected to bring a major boost to the island’s marine tourism.
Known for hosting one of the world’s largest populations of tiger sharks, Shark Point has long been a favorite destination for divers.
Its global profile has now grown even further, as the entire first episode of the six-part series is dedicated to showcasing the beauty and biodiversity of Fuvahmulah.
The site has previously been recognized with the Best Shark Diving Destination award in Hong Kong, and continues to attract tourists eager to witness its thriving shark population.
In a Facebook post, Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq hailed the feature as a significant milestone in promoting the island on a global platform.
He credited local dive expert Ahmed Inah owner of Pelagic Divers and a veteran in the diving industry with over 17 years of experience for facilitating the production and helping bring Fuvahmulah’s underwater marvels to an international audience.
Netflix filmed the scenes in Fuvahmulah last year and has released the trailer on its official YouTube channel.
