Maldives reaffirms commitment to Seychelles ties in Independence day greetings
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm Independence Day greetings to the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, as well as to the government and people of Seychelles, on the occasion of their national day.
In a message shared on his official X account, President Muizzu conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and good wishes.
Warmest greetings of Independence Day to His Excellency President Wavel Ramkalawan, the government, and the people of Seychelles. May the festivities of the day be filled with joy and togetherness,
he wrote.
President further reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to maintaining and strengthening its longstanding bilateral relationship with Seychelles.
He emphasized that the two countries share a common dedication to peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across the Indian Ocean region.
In his formal message to President Ramkalawan, President Muizzu acknowledged the enduring friendship between the Maldives and Seychelles, and expressed hope that the celebration would mark continued progress and unity for the Seychellois people.
Seychelles celebrates its Independence Day annually on June 29, marking its transition to full sovereignty in 1976.
