Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has launched a ramp VR training program.

MACL launched the training module at Velana International Airport on Monday. MACL will use VR courses for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for training.

IATA helps 300 airlines or 83 per cent of the world's aviation sector by addressing various challenges. IATA was founded on April 19, 1945, in Havana, Cuba.

MACL's current training using VR is aircraft marshalling, aircraft turnaround inspection and aircraft boarding. MACL stated that they are trying to provide the state of the art training to all its employees.

Although we are using this VR simulator at the moment, we plan to use our personalised simulator in the future

Said MACL statement

MACL has stated that the reason for this training is to utilise the employees effectively and also trained so that people are comfortable with the workplace. Ali Saeed, General Manager, Ramp, MACL and Hamil Ali, RTP Manager were present to showcase the demo of the VR. So far, MACL has conducted training by approaching the aircraft. VR provides a solution to this problem.

MACL is the largest airport operator in the country. MACL has been trying to train its employees using state-of-the-art equipment. Last year too, MACL set up an APC tower simulator to train its tower workers.
