Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Kong Xianhua, hosted a meeting with representatives from nearly 20 major Maldivian media outlets, including PSM, the Maldivian Journal, and Sun Online on Tuesday.

The event was also attended by senior diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.

During the session, Ambassador Kong provided an overview of China’s foreign policy and shared insights on China-Maldives relations, using the framework of building a peaceful, secure, prosperous, and friendly regional environment.

He also addressed questions related to ongoing Chinese projects in the Maldives and discussed the outlook for future cooperation between the two nations.

Journalists praised the ambassador's candid and comprehensive presentation, describing China as a trusted partner of the Maldives.

They expressed optimism about further collaboration with the Embassy to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries.

Chinese Ambassador Kong Xianhua, who was recently appointed to the post, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr. Muizzu on May 5, formally beginning his diplomatic tenure in the Maldives.
