The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry, tasked with investigating the case of 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu, who was found injured on the rooftop of a building in Malé on April 18, has launched a dedicated online portal to provide updates and collect public input.

The portal, which became operational today, allows the public to submit questions and share relevant information, including written statements, photos, videos, or other documents related to the incident.

It can be accessed through the following link: https://inquirycommission.gov.mv/ via the eFaas platform.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu established the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry on April 27 to ensure an independent and credible investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case.

Speaking at a press conference, Commission President Mohamed Munavvar said the portal was created to promote transparency and facilitate public engagement.

Through the portal, people can get information and ask questions. We will address frequently asked questions and respond to individual queries where possible.

Munavvar stated

He also clarified that since the case involves an alleged criminal offence, certain information may only be disclosed once the investigation concludes.

However, he assured the public that all other updates and developments will be shared through the portal.

On April 24, police revealed the identities of all individuals involved in the case and confirmed that the passports of all parties, including Raudh Ahmed Zilal, who was the last person seen with Yumnu, have been confiscated as the investigation progresses.

Additionally, on April 30, the Criminal Court extended Zilal’s detention by 10 days.
