Saudi Prince pledges support for Maldives’ development initiatives

Prince Fahad Saud Alshalan of Saudi Arabia pledged his support for the Maldives’ development efforts during a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Monday afternoon at the President’s Office.

In the meeting, President expressed appreciation for the close and enduring ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

He outlined key aspects of the government's development agenda, particularly the establishment of the Maldives International Financial Centre (MIFC), which he described as a central component of the nation’s economic diversification strategy.

The President also thanked Prince Fahad for attending the signing ceremony of the Joint Venture Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Planning and MBS Global Investments to launch the MIFC.

Prince Fahad praised President Dr. Muizzu’s vision for the country and assured Saudi Arabia’s continued support for the Maldives’ development initiatives.

He expressed a keen interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual benefit and strengthening cooperation across various sectors.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and working together to achieve shared development goals.
