Maldives Immigration, in collaboration with a government task force, has arrested 13 foreigners as part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration.

The arrests were made yesterday during a joint search operation near Zikura Mosque in Malé’s Maafannu district.

The operation is part of broader efforts by Maldives Immigration and other relevant agencies to locate and take action against undocumented foreigners residing in the country.

This latest operation follows a similar raid on April 24, during which authorities detained 51 illegal foreigners from ADh. Dhangethi.

Under the current administration, the government has intensified its efforts to address the issue of illegal immigration.

Numerous properties have been inspected, unauthorized businesses have been shut down, and a large number of foreigners have been deported as part of the initiative.

Maldives Immigration previously reported that over 5,000 foreigners have been deported so far under the special operation.
