Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, the 21-year-old woman who was found injured on the rooftop of a warehouse in Malé in the early hours of Friday, April 18, is being transferred to Malaysia for further medical treatment, her family has confirmed.

Yumnu sustained serious injuries in the fall and was initially placed on a ventilator.

Although she later regained the ability to breathe independently, her condition remains critical.

She has been receiving intensive care treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Speaking to Voice, Yumnu’s family said the government had facilitated all necessary arrangements for her overseas treatment.

Support from the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) was also secured.

The government has also been working to charter a special flight to ensure her safe transfer to Malaysia.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to investigate the incident.

Raudh Ahmed Zilal, the individual reported to have been with Yumnu until the last moment before the fall, was arrested yesterday.

He has been remanded in custody for five days.

In connection with the case, police have also seized the phones and passports of seven individuals, including Raudh, as part of their ongoing investigation.
