President Dr. Muizzu to make official visit to Malaysia
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will depart for Malaysia on an official visit from April 27 to 30, 2025, at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
This marks President Dr. Muizzu’s first official visit to Malaysia since assuming office.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials, the President aims to strengthen the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries.
During the four-day visit, President Dr. Muizzu is scheduled to hold official talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The discussions will focus on deepening bilateral cooperation, exchanging perspectives on regional and global developments, and identifying new areas of collaboration.
The two leaders will also witness the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding and Exchange of Notes in several important sectors.
As part of the visit, President Dr. Muizzu will participate in a Business Forum organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, where he will engage with prominent Malaysian investors to explore potential investment opportunities in the Maldives.
The President will also visit the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where he is expected to deliver a lecture.
Additionally, he will meet with members of the Maldivian community living in Malaysia, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting Maldivians abroad.
He will listen to their concerns and discuss ways to enhance their welfare and address challenges they may face.
