Maldivian student pilot injured by propeller in training accident
A Maldivian student pilot has sustained serious injuries after being struck by an aircraft propeller during a training session at a flight school in the Philippines.
The injured student has been identified as Abdul Maniu, a native of HDh. Hanimaadhoo.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday while Maniu was undergoing routine flight training.
It is believed that he exited the aircraft feeling dizzy, at which point he was struck by the still-running propeller.
Sources familiar with the matter say that the engine had not been shut off at the time of the incident and the flight instructor remained inside the aircraft.
Maniu is currently receiving medical treatment, and family members have reported that he is undergoing surgery for some of his injuries.

Efforts to obtain a comment from the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs were unsuccessful.
