Three individuals were detained on Monday night as part of a joint security operation by the Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) in Malé City.

According to a statement released by the Maldives Police Service on X, the three suspects have been taken into custody and searches are being conducted at locations connected to them.

As part of the operation, a lorry was stopped near Jumhooree Maidhaan (Republic Square), and its driver was arrested.

Additionally, a house in the Raalhugandu area was searched.

The operation also extended to Hulhumalé Phase 2, where security forces were deployed at the Vinares 7th Flat area.

Police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) personnel were also stationed on Shabnam Road.

Authorities confirmed that the operation is being carried out following a tip-off received by police intelligence.
