Maldives Police Service has arrested a 23-year-old woman in possession of 14 kilograms of drugs during a counter-narcotics operation in Hulhumalé Phase 2.

The suspect has been identified as Mariyam Zeena, a resident of Aahiya, H.A. Thuraakunu.

According to the police, the drugs were seized from an apartment during a search conducted under a court order on Wednesday.

Following her arrest, Zeena was presented before the court, which ordered her to be remanded in custody for 15 days.

Authorities have not disclosed further details as investigations remain ongoing.
