Maldives Police Service have imposed fines totaling MVR 70,000 for vape possession, according to a statement released today.

The fines were issued as part of ongoing enforcement efforts against vaping under the country's tobacco regulations.

Between December 15 and 22 last year, six individuals were fined for using vape products.

In total, police recorded 14 vape-related cases from December 15 to 31, leading to fines amounting to MVR 60,500 against 11 individuals.

2- An additional fine of MVR 10,000 for each vape unit imported.

3- Selling vape products will incur a penalty of MVR 20,000 per seller, along with an additional MVR 10,000 fine for each unit sold.

4- Providing vape products to another individual will be punishable with a MVR 10,000 fine.
