Maldives and Saudi Arabia reaffirm strong bilateral ties in high-level talks

Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel held official discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, in Riyadh on Wednesday.

According to foreign ministry the talks held at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, both Ministers reaffirmed the deep-rooted friendship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the significance of continued collaboration.

Foreign Minister Khaleel expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support in the Maldives’ development journey and highlighted the shared Islamic values that form the foundation of their partnership.

The two Ministers also discussed avenues to further enhance bilateral cooperation and agreed to work closely in multilateral forums to address regional and global challenges.

Foreign Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Maldivian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Sareer, Secretary Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, and Counsellor Ahmed Fazeel from the Maldivian Embassy in Saudi Arabia.
