Chinese tourist missing since October; Police appeal for information
Authorities in the Maldives have launched an investigation to locate Su Xiaoning, a 30-year-old Chinese tourist who has been missing since arriving in the country on October 13, 2024, on a tourist visa.
According to police, Su’s family reported her disappearance through the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives on January 22, 2025, after losing contact with her following her arrival.
The case was officially submitted to the Maldives Police Service the same day and is being handled by the Serious and Organized Crime Investigation Department.
Preliminary inquiries reveal that Su Xiaoning checked out of her guesthouse on the morning of October 24, 2024.
However, there is no record of her leaving the Maldives, and her current whereabouts remain unknown.
The police have appealed to the public for assistance in the investigation and urged anyone with information about Su Xiaoning to contact the Serious and Organized Crime Investigation duty line at 9911099.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities strive to uncover details about her disappearance.
