Male’ City Police recovered MVR 19.2 million worth of items last year!
Maldives Police Service has revealed that more than MVR 19.2 million worth of stolen and counterfeit items were recovered from cases reported to the Malé City Police last year.
According to police records, a total of 1,653 items were retrieved during 2024, including:
- 206 mobile phones valued at MVR 1,983,564.79
- 253 motorcycles worth MVR 11,489,400
- 107 electronic devices valued at MVR 986,843.42
- 333 other miscellaneous items amounting to MVR 551,206.62
In addition to these recoveries, police also confiscated MVR 615,813.56 in counterfeit money during various investigations into cases involving fraudulent currency transactions.
While police successfully recovered a substantial amount of stolen goods and counterfeit money, they did not disclose details about whether or how the recovered items were returned to their rightful owners.
