Two large cruise liners have arrived in Malé, bringing a wave of excited tourists to Maldives.

These arrivals bring the total number of cruise liners to dock in the Maldives this season to three.

The second cruise liner of the season, the sun-class cruise ship 'Norwegian Sky', owned and operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, docked in Malé on Sunday morning.

Carrying 1,872 passengers, the vessel will stay in the Maldives for two days before departing Monday night, according to the Maldives Association for Yacht Agents (MAYA), which announced the update on the social media platform 'X'.

The third cruise liner, an oceania-class ship named 'MS Riviera', owned by Oceania Cruises, arrived on Monday morning.

This cruise liner's next destination is the city of Colombo in Sri Lanka.

With thousands of passengers from both vessels disembarking, tourists are exploring Malé and nearby islands, boosting local tourism and businesses.

These cruise arrivals follow the Maldives' milestone achievement of surpassing two million tourist arrivals for the year last week.
