President Dr. Muizzu signs condolence book for late Indian PM Dr. Manmohan Singh
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has signed the Condolence Book at the High Commission of India in Malé, expressing his heartfelt sympathies following the passing of India’s former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on December 26, 2024.
In his message, President Dr. Muizzu described Dr. Singh as a distinguished statesman and recalled his historic visit to the Maldives in November 2011, a moment that significantly strengthened the ties between the two nations.
On behalf of the Maldivian government and its people, the President extended condolences to Dr. Singh’s family, as well as to the Indian government and its citizens, during this time of great sorrow.
Dr. Manmohan Singh was a renowned Indian politician, economist, academic, and bureaucrat who served as India’s 13th Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.
