Maldives Immigration has announced the arrest of four individuals during a targeted raid on businesses operating in the Hiyaa flats of Hulhumalé Phase II.

The operation, conducted yesterday, involved searches across 26 locations and 4 were arrested according to Immigration.

This follows a similar operation on October 21, where eight shops, four cafés and bakeries, and a salon were inspected, resulting in the arrest of three undocumented workers.

The initiative is part of a broader crackdown on illegal migration issues across the Maldives.

Immigration authorities, in collaboration with other relevant agencies, have ramped up special operations to address the growing concern.

The government has outlined plans to expand these efforts nationwide within the next year, aiming to cover all inhabited islands.
