Maldives Immigration detains tourist for engaging in illegal business activity
Maldives Immigration has detained a foreign national, identified as Quiping Feng, a 33-year-old female, for violating the terms of her tourist visa by engaging in business activities.
The agency stated that the individual was apprehended following public reports of her operating a business and residing in public spaces.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Maldives Immigration wrote:
We have received public reports of tourists arriving in the Maldives and engaging in business activities as well as living and sleeping in public spaces. Our team responded swiftly to address the issue, and one individual was detained yesterday. We strongly condemn such visa violations and will take appropriate action.
