The new flights significantly enhance passenger convenience by eliminating layovers, reducing travel time.

Flights from Delhi to Malé now take approximately four hours, while the journey from Mumbai to Malé is completed in just three hours.

This move is expected to strengthen travel and trade ties between India and the Maldives, particularly as the peak holiday season approaches.

India continues to be a leading source market for tourist arrivals to the Maldives.

As of December 8, 2024, India ranked sixth, with over 115,000 visitors, contributing to 6.2% of the market share.

Additionally, the Maldives remains a popular destination for Indian travelers and a key hub for Maldivians seeking medical services in India.
