Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin pays farewell visit to President Dr. Muizzu

Wang Lixin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Maldives, paid a farewell courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today.

The meeting highlighted the longstanding partnership between the two nations and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further enhancing ties.

During the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu extended his warm wishes to Ambassador Wang and expressed his gratitude for her contributions during her tenure.

He emphasized China’s significant role in supporting key developmental projects across various sectors in the Maldives, underscoring the deep cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Wang, in turn, expressed her appreciation for the support and collaboration extended by the Maldivian government throughout her tenure.

She commended the resilience of the Maldivian government, its notable achievements, and the progress made over the past year. Ambassador Wang also reiterated that the strong partnership between Maldives and China is rooted in mutual respect and shared aspirations.

The discussion also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects initiated with Chinese assistance and identified areas for potential collaboration in the future.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to achieve shared goals.

Concluding the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu and Ambassador Wang reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Maldives-China relationship.

Ambassador Wang Lixin, who was appointed on September 6, 2021, leaves behind a legacy of strengthened bilateral ties.
