Maldives welcomes major Indian Group as Reliance employees arrive for vacation
A group of 290 employees from Reliance Group, one of India’s largest companies, has arrived in the Maldives for a vacation.
This marks a significant development, as it is the first large-scale visit from an Indian company since the decline in Indian tourist arrivals following the recent India-Maldives tensions.
Mohamed Firaq, Managing Director of the Maldivian travel company Inner Maldives, shared the news on social media.
He confirmed that 216 employees from Reliance arrived in the Maldives today, while an additional 74 passengers came on a separate flight.
Firaq expressed his gratitude to SriLankan Airlines for their efforts in promoting the Maldives as a destination in his post, acknowledging their role in facilitating the group’s visit.
This marks one of the largest groups from India visiting the Maldives in recent times, highlighting the increasing appeal of this stunning destination,

Tourist arrivals in the Maldives have increased by 10% this year, surpassing 1.5 million.
However, the Indian market, which led last year, has now dropped to sixth place, with 92,578 Indian tourists.
Relations between the Maldives and India have improved following President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's recent visit to India, where he also engaged in tourism promotion and met with industry officials.
