President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to His Excellency Luong Cuong on his appointment as the State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In his message, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed warm wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, expressing confidence in President Cuong’s leadership to foster Vietnam’s development and progress during his term.

President Dr. Muizzu also reiterated his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration on global issues.

He expressed optimism about working together on shared interests in the years ahead.

He concluded his message with personal wishes for President Cuong’s success and wellbeing, as well as for continued peace and prosperity for the people of Vietnam.

President Cuong was unanimously elected by 440 deputies and, in his inaugural speech, pledged to pursue an independent foreign policy, boost defense capabilities and build a modern, agile military.
