A dangerous accident occurred in GDh. Nadella early Sunday, leaving three people injured after a speeding motorcycle lost control and crashed into a bystander.

The incident happened on the road leading to the island’s jetty when a teenager on a motorcycle collided with a man standing next to a three-wheeler truck.

The police reported that the accident was called in at around 12:05 a.m. on Sunday.

Two 18-year-olds on the motorcycle and a 47-year-old bystander were all injured in the crash.

The injured were initially taken to the Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in GDh. Thinadhoo for treatment.

Later, the motorcycle driver and the bystander were transferred to Malé for further treatment at ADK Hospital.

The police have not yet disclosed the severity of their injuries.

It was also confirmed that the teenager driving the motorcycle did not hold a valid license. 

The police are continuing to investigate the accident.
