Minister Muththalib explained that significant discussions have taken place with various stakeholders, including hospitals, ministries, and other relevant institutions, to ensure the project meets the nation's healthcare needs.

The project is scheduled to start in mid-2025, with the goal of completing the hospital within two years.

The government previously announced plans to introduce specialized services at the Villimale' Hospital.

It will focus on care for the elderly and provide comprehensive services for long-term admitted patients at all stages of their treatment.

The hospital, located in Villimale', which has a population of 15,000, will also serve residents of Gulhifalhu once they settle.
