Ooredoo Maldives has strengthened its commitment to advancing healthcare by donating specialized medical equipment worth MVR 16 million to the national Air Ambulance service.

The contribution, part of Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, reinforces the company’s focus on healthcare as one of its core pillars.

Launched on March 1, 2024, with support from Ooredoo, the Air Ambulance has already become a crucial service, providing life-saving medical transport across the Maldives.

The initial equipment provided by Ooredoo was instrumental in getting the service operational. Since its inception, the Air Ambulance has handled 436 emergency cases, transporting 517 patients who were in urgent need of medical care.

To further enhance the capabilities of the service, Ooredoo has today delivered an additional batch of state-of-the-art medical devices, aimed at improving patient care and boosting the service’s capacity to respond to emergencies more effectively.

At the ceremony held for the handover of the donation today, Ooredoo Maldives’ CEO, Khalid Al Hamadi, expressed the company’s dedication to improving healthcare access across the nation.

We believe in the power of partnerships to address the most pressing needs of our communities. Our investment of nearly 16 million Rufiyaa highlights our commitment to ensuring that critical medical care is available to all, regardless of their location,

He stated

The Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, also spoke and praised Ooredoo for its meaningful contribution, emphasizing the positive impact of corporate responsibility on the nation’s healthcare system.

Today’s handover demonstrates the profound difference businesses can make when they prioritize the well-being of people. This investment in healthcare sets a gold standard for corporate social responsibility,

He remarked

The Air Ambulance service, now equipped with advanced medical technology, continues to provide timely and critical interventions for patients in serious conditions.

With Ooredoo’s latest donation, the service is better positioned to offer life-saving care to more individuals across the country.
