India’s Vice President, His Excellency Jagdeep Dhankar, paid a courtesy visit to President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the President’s state visit to India.

President Dr. Muizzu emphasised the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations, noting that 2025 will mark 60 years of formal diplomatic ties. 

He highlighted the centuries-long history of trade and friendship between Maldivians and Indians, praising India for its swift and reliable support in times of need, a testament to the mutual trust and strong understanding between the two neighbors.

Vice President Dhankar emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections in building lasting relationships between nations.

He pointed out that historical ties between the Maldives and India continue to thrive, promoting collaboration across a wide range of sectors that benefit both countries.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both sides to further enhance cooperation across all levels of government, ensuring that the positive momentum generated during President Dr. Muizzu’s state visit continues to strengthen bilateral relations.
