India and Maldives announce plans for consulates in Addu City and Bangalore
During President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s state visit to India from October 6 to 10, discussions were held regarding the establishment of a Maldives consulate in Bangalore and an Indian consulate in Addu City.
The discussions were made during President’s meeting with India PM Narendra Modi today this was a followed by a joint press conference between the two governments.
The joint press conference highlighted significant developments, including the introduction of India’s RuPay payment system, the inauguration of the new runway at Hanimaadhoo, and the handing over of 700 housing units to the Maldives.
Additionally, five key agreements were signed to further strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
President Dr. Muizzu is accompanied by a delegation of government heads during this visit, underscoring the commitment to deepen ties and enhance collaboration between India and the Maldives.
