Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international NGO headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of efforts in global peacebuilding.

The event focused on reviewing the organization's achievements since its founding in 2014 and discussing future plans for expanding peace efforts.

HWPL operates in 170 countries, partnering with 1,014 organizations across 105 nations to promote peace through memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and agreements (MOAs).

The organization, affiliated with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC), has a global membership of over 500,000 individuals dedicated to peace initiatives.

In his keynote address, HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized the importance of dialogue between religions, noting that religious divisions have historically caused significant loss of life.

He stressed the need for global cooperation to build a peaceful world for future generations.

Only through love and peace can the world become one

Said Lee

Aligned with the theme of regional cooperation, HWPL announced partnerships with the intergovernmental organization Group of 7+ (G7+) and the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) to further peace efforts. G7+ brings together 20 conflict-affected countries to promote peace, stability, and development, while Parlatino supports democratic development and integration across its 23 member states.

A notable peace project in Timor-Leste was presented by Dr. Jose Honorio da Costa Pereira Jeronimo, the country's Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture. Dr. Jeronimo highlighted the introduction of peace education in collaboration with HWPL and eight higher education institutions, expressing his belief that peace education will foster global citizenship and contribute to the stability of society.

H.E. Dr. Emil Constantinescu, the 3rd President of Romania and President of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization, reflected on HWPL's 2014 peace summit.

He commended the organization's dedication to peace, emphasizing that faith in global harmony transcends individual initiatives and unites humanity in the pursuit of a greater goal.

An incredible and impressive image proves that the faith in global peace is very much more than a mere initiative. It was then that I first truly felt that we are all one and be irrespective of our perceived differences. We are all united in one breath in the service of the greater calling of global peace.

He stated

As HWPL celebrates its 10th anniversary, it continues to build on its peace initiatives by strengthening regional networks and partnerships to address local challenges and promote global peace.
