Ihavandhoo receives 25-Tonne Crane from MPL, Dockyard project in pipeline

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has donated a 25-tonne 'Kobelco' crane to the Ihavandhoo Council in Haa Alif Atoll, marking a significant contribution to the island’s infrastructure development.

The handover took place during a ceremony at Ihavandhoo port, where MPL CEO Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim formally presented the equipment.

The donation was made following a request from the Ihavandhoo Council, which sought the crane to enhance local operations.

At the event, Wajeeh highlighted MPL's dedication to supporting local communities through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

Ihavandhoo Council President Ahmed Sobah expressed appreciation for MPL’s swift response to their request. 

In addition to the crane donation, MPL also signed an agreement with the Ihavandhoo Council to develop a dockyard and slipway on the island, further strengthening ties between the corporation and the local community.
