A 43-year-old man, Thasleem Mohamed from Maafannu Asaree Han'dhaan in Malé, has been missing for over 24 hours after a picnic on a reclaimed sandbank near Kaafu Atoll Huvafenfushi.

The Maldives Police Service has issued an appeal to the public for any information that could assist in locating him.

According to the police, Thasleem was last seen between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on 30 August.

He was part of a group on a picnic at the sandbank when he went missing.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact time he was reported missing.

The police are urging anyone who may have information about Thasleem's whereabouts or who may have visited the sandbank to contact the Himmafushi Police Station at 9794639.
